Public Dining Room is arguably one of Sydney’s most spectacular event venues. With unrivalled Balmoral Beach views, our restaurant is a magnificent setting for small groups bookings up to our exclusive seated capacity events of 110 guests. Events may be held during our regular restaurant hours Monday to Sunday and by special request, we can also open for private events at other times.

Our Menus

Public Dining Room’s food philosophy is simple - source the best seasonal ingredients to craft unique, fresh and flavoursome dishes. Ingredients come direct to your plate from some of Australia's best providores.
Set on the shores on Balmoral Beach, Public Dining Room is one of Sydney’s most loved event venues, renowned for our delicious food, fine wine and personable service.
TABLE IN RESTAURANT
Seated: 1 – 20 guests
With our spectacular location and flexible floor plan options, Public Dining Room can accommodate groups of all sizes in the main dining room and terrace area. When booking a part restaurant (non exclusive) area you do not need to commit to a minimum spend, just choose your menu and preferred seating time and we will look after the rest. Please note, as you will be seated alongside other diners we are unable to accommodate speeches.
PRIVATE DINING ROOM
Seated: 33 guests (3 tables)
Cocktail: 40 standing
For an extra special dining experience, events can be hosted in our semi private dining room for up to 33 guests seated across three tables (23 max for one long table) or 40 guests, cocktail style. Our semi-private dining room is the perfect spot for an intimate event without distancing diners from the buzz of the restaurant. A thick curtain is used to separate the semi-private dining area from the main dining restaurant.
Your guests will have the opportunity to enjoy your very own private beach deck for pre-dinner drinks and canapés. With unrivalled Balmoral Beach views, this space is arguably one of Sydney’s most spectacular private dining rooms. Minimum food and beverage spend required (no room hire).
The Terrace
Seated: 57 guests
Cocktail: 70 standing
Just like our main dining room, the terrace area overlooks the breathtaking Balmoral Baths and has it’s very own private beach entry! Taking in the charm of an outdoor setting, this area was designed to be in harmony with it’s natural surrounds environment, under the dappled light of the spectacular Moreton Bay Fig Tree. A floor to ceiling glass door is used to separate the terrace area from the main dining restaurant. The terrace gives the feeling of being outdoors, whilst being protected from the elements.
Exclusive VENUE Hire
Seated: 110 guests
Cocktail: 135 standing
With a seated capacity of 110, the restaurant can be booked exclusively and has played host to many memorable exclusive functions. With floor to ceiling glass walls, our restaurant offers unobstructed views of Balmoral Beach.
The versatile space can be styled to suit a range of event formats. We suggest drinks and canapés on the terrace, before moving into the main dining room for the seated part of your event. Our private dining area becomes the perfect location for a dance floor and is where any live music/DJ would be positioned. For cocktail events, tables would be scattered throughout the venue creating the right atmosphere!
